Libertarian Party of New York Platform Committee

The Libertarian Party of New York's Platform Committee is tasked with reviewing and recommending amendments to the party platform. The committee has existed in various forms over the history of the party.

History

At Platform Committee was first started on December 1, 1972. There was also a Platform Committee that exisited from 1982 to 1983. Attempts were made to amend the 1983 platform in the late 2010s. A Platform Committee chaired by Jeff Motta led to the creation of a new platform in 2019.

1st Iteration (1972)

The first iteration was established on December 1, 1972. Nothing else is known about this committee.

2nd Iteration (1982—1983)

The second iteration of the committee was established in 1982 and created a platform in 1983.

The third iteration existed in the late 2010s. Rosenbeck and Purtell were not formally named chairs of the Platform committee, but were presumed chairs.

4th Iteration (2019)

The fourth interation was established on July 17, 2019 and was chaired by Jeff Motta. A series of meetings led to the creation of a platform, primarily written by Fred Cole. The committee was dissolved on September 29, 2019.
