Joshua J Huffman is an activist, blogger, and former campaign staffer from Harrisonburg, VA. He joined the Libertarian Party of Virginia in 2014.

Joshua has been active in politics since he was a high school student in 1995. In 2002, he graduated with a degree in government from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. During this time he was heavily involved with the William & Mary College Republicans. He attended his first Libertarian meeting while working as a political pollster in Charlottesville, VA in either 2003 or 2004. In 2006, he served as an assistant regional field coordinator for the Republican Party of Virginia. In 2007, he worked as a field representative in Kentucky and Tennessee for Students for Life of America. After this, he became the grassroots coordinator for the state of South Carolina for the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign in 2008. Next, he worked as a field director for Delegate Phil Hamilton in Newport News, VA. In 2012, he was a field director with We Virginia. Then, in 2013, he worked for both the Robert Sarvis Campaign for Governor and the Women Speak Out PAC. He also worked for this PAC and briefly for the Robert Sarvis for Senate campaign in 2014.

Besides his formal education at William & Mary, he was trained by the Republican National Committee and The Leadership Institute.

Joshua was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Shenandoah Valley Tea Party in July 2011, a position he held until the group's dissolution in March 2014. He also was an at-large member of the Board of Directors of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Virginia from July 2012 to September 2013.

Joshua Huffman was a member of the Republican Party from 1995 until he was expelled in February 2014. Having attended the Rocktown Libertarians for the last several years, he officially joined the Libertarian Party shortly thereafter.

In 2008, Joshua created a blog called The Virginia Conservative and has been writing regularly about politics since that time. Along with Andy Schmookler, he has been doing a monthly radio show about politics on 550 AM, WSVA since July 2013.

Joshua Huffman ran for a seat on the Harrisonburg City Council in the 2014 elections.

He was given charge of the Rocktown Libertarians in late 2016 when the previous leader, Marc Montoni, left for Colorado.

As of the fall of 2017, Joshua Huffman planned to move to Morgantown, WV to pursue a doctorate degree in political science at West Virginia University and get a cat.
