Usman Ali Chohan, better known as Usman Ali, is the current Vice-Chair and the former Treasurer of the Libertarian Party of Queens County. He is formerly the Candidate for New York State Assembly's District 25 in 2016's New York State Elections for Legislature. He ran against Nily Rozic.

He is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in New York City and currently studies public administration at St. John's University's Queens campus.

Prior to November 2017, Chohan was recovering from a harsh set of events that resulted in his Impeachment as a party officer. However in October, following the former Chair's resignation, the LPQC reinstated Chohan's officer status and he was appointed the Vice-Chair by Christopher R. Fuentes-Padilla on November 8, 2017. Chohan and Fuentes-Padilla were sworn in alongside Kenneth Mulvena in a private ceremony on the afternoon of November 9th.

Queens Libertarian Party Elections (2017)

Usman Ali Chohan, Christopher R. Fuentes-Padilla, Elliot Axelman and Armin Nassiri were part of the temporary county committee as Volunteers in 2016. In March 2017, the county held the annual convention to approve the drafted bylaws and elect the officers to the county committee.

Mr. Chohan was elected to the position of county treasurer that at the LPQC inaugural convention. Beginning in May, under the proposal of Chairman Elliot Axelman, the county committee began article of impeachment for Chohan. The charges of "Poor Duty Performance" and "Excessive Absences" were brought on by the Sub-Committee appointed by Vice-Chairman Christopher R. Fuentes-Padilla in August 2017. By August 11th of the same year, Chohan was removed from office but was allowed to remain a dues paying member.

2016 New York State Assembly Race

In 2016, Usman Ali Chohan was the Republican Party Candidate in the General Election for New York State Assembly for the 25th District which sits in the Fresh Meadows area of Queens. He garnered the highest votes and total percentage for any candidate his age in the county and the highest amount of votes in his age Group in the state for a GOP candidate.
