The Cass County Libertarian Party (of Missouri) is best known for hosting the de facto Libertarian Party presidential straw poll for recent presidential elections, but presently has no plans to hold one for 2008.
It hosted an LP Presidential Candidates' forum in 2003 that featured Michael Badnarik and Gary Nolan. It was carried by C-Span and was Badnarik's first national television appearance.
It has organized opposition to three ballot measures
in Cass County since 2002 and won all three times: two county tax increases and one City Charter effort that would have drastically increased city government power in Belton.
The current county webmaster is David White and email inquiries to the county are handled by Mike Ferguson.
