Altruism vs. Generosity

Changed the word "altruism" to "generosity" in the Objectivism section. Ayn Rand stated repeatedly and categorically that altruism and capitalism were fundamentally incompatible. This was probably a matter of definitions but it's best be precise so as not to mislead anyone into thinking generosity and altruism are the same thing. According to Rand, altruism was the sacrifice of self, liberty or property for the benefit of another with no compensation or reward of any kind. Altruism demands self-sacrifice to the point of self-harm if necessary for the unearned benefit of others. -- 16:40, 28 March 2010 Gmsteele44
