Michael Francis "Mike" Linder (April 6, 1961—February 18, 2025) was a American chemical engineer and Libertarian activist. He was Treasurer of the Libertarian Party of Maryland.

Biography

Linder was born on April 6, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Hilary Francis Linder III and Rita Gaiser Linder. He was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, where he attended St. Louis Catholic School and Christian Brothers High School. He later enrolled at Christian Brothers College (CBC) in Memphis, earning a degree in chemical engineering in 1983.

After graduating, Linder began working as a civil servant for the U.S. Army in Aberdeen, Maryland, where he remained for over 20 years. He was actively involved in the Maryland Libertarian Party and the Save-A-Patriot Fellowship. A devout Catholic, he was a lifelong member of the Church and became a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus in Joppa, Maryland.

Linder experienced health complications following a fall in December 2024 and passed away on February 18, 2025, in Bel Air, Maryland. He was survived by his parents, Hilary and Rita Linder; his sister, Anne Larson; his brother, Edward Linder; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Timothy Linder and Julie Winkler.
