John McAfee (September 18, 1945–June 23, 2021) was a software developer and entrepreneur. He was the founder of McAfee software and ran it from 1987 until 1994.
On December 24th, 2015, John McAfee announced he would seek the 2016 Libertarian nomination for President of the United States.[1] He would finish in third on the 2nd Ballot, losing to Gary Johnson.[2]

2020 Presidential Campaign

On June 4 2018, McAfee declared his intent to run for president of the United States in 2020.[3].
On March 4 2020, McAfee withdrew from the presidential race, instead expressing interest in seeking the Libertarian Party's Vice Presidential nomination.[4]
