Dean Ahmad (Imad-ad-Dean Ahmad) was a member of the Libertarian National Committee, serving as national Secretary from 1985 to 1989 and as an At-Large member from 1989 to 1991. He served Chair of the Maryland Libertarian Party from the mid-1980s until 1993 and co-authored its bylaws. He was the Maryland Libertarian Party candidate for U.S. Senate in 1984 and in 2012. He was campaign manager for successful Charles County school board candidate Steve Zeigler in 1994. He served on the National Platform Committee eight times. He is married to Frances Eddy.
