Hayden P Maples is a Libertarian residing in Basehor, KS and running for City Council in 2021.

Before moving to Basehor, Hayden was a member of the Douglas County Libertarian Party. Activism included providing comments at Lawrence City Commission meetings, door knocking and lit dropping to oppose a sales tax renewal vote and a jail expansion vote, and tabling for both Douglas County and Leavenworth County Fairs.

Background

Hayden was born in Norman, Oklahoma before moving to Kansas at the age of 4. He graduated from the University of Kansas with Bachelor's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration, then completed an MBA at Washburn University.

Hayden is married to Megan Maples and they have 2 sons.

Hayden grew up in a Republican household but grew dissatisfied with the lack of follow through on claims of fiscal responsibility and their paternalistic views on social issues. He found the Libertarian Party to be a great fit for his strong belief in free markets, decentralization, and personal responsibility.
