Dear Libertarian,

Our path to overall success begins at home. Whether it’s growing a local county affiliate, or running a winning local campaign, we must grow the party at the ground level.

However, the Libertarian Party does not have the infrastructure that our opponents do. We must change that, and we are working to change that, in a variety of ways.

For example, many states are using inadequate or obsolete technologies. They often work from spreadsheets. This was sufficient in the 90s, but with expanding datasets this has become an ever-increasing nightmare which often makes our state affiliates less efficient and less effective.

Alternatively, each state could spend between $4,000 and $20,000 per year to manage their data in a database.

Or, the national party could step in and help with economies of scale, and facilitate a larger database that is built for Libertarian leaders and activists and which saves money for affiliates all across the country.

In August 2017, the LNC funded a proof-of-concept phase for the initial design and implementation of a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. In simpler language: a database. This phase is now complete and 10 state parties already are using the new database!

Our project mission is quite simple: to create a robust CRM, with an easy to use interface which requires minimal training for volunteers nationwide.

To further empower state parties to engage more volunteers, we now need to expand the existing system. We’ve contacted a top development team for our particular configuration, and they love what we’re trying to do.

But, as we Libertarians know so well TANSTAAFL: there is no such thing as a free lunch.

We need to raise money to pay these developers. And that’s where you come in. We need to raise $12,500 by March 16th to keep pace with our target of expanding the database so that all states and counties who want to participate will have access by the end of 2018.

Modern IT systems are essential if we want to compete with the Rs and Ds.
