Synergy Opportunity Liberty Organization (SOLO USA)
The Synergy Opportunity Liberty Organization, officially known as 'SOLO USA' and informally as 'SOLO,' is a defunct Nevada non-profit organization that promoted libertarian ideas to Hispanics. [1] [2] SOLO was co-founded around the summer of 2013 by a group of Hispanic libertarian activists in Las Vegas, Nevada, who mostly met during Ron Paul's 2012 presidential campaign. Many of them also volunteered for Juan A Martinez's North Las Vegas City Council campaign earlier that year. [2]
SOLO initially operated as an unincorporated, loosely-organized group before incorporating on April 21, 2014 and later obtaining 501(c)(3) status. [1] [2] Martinez, Doug Pestana, and Edgar Licea served as the organization's officers, with Martinez taking the role of President. SOLO's activity dramatically declined after July 2014 as Martinez became Nevada State Director for The LIBRE Initiative and Pestana moved out of state.
