The term Executive Committee is used in different ways in different organizations. Usually it will be a relatively small committee empowered to act on behalf of the organization between meetings of a larger body. An Executive Committee will typically include the officers of the organization, but may also contain a number of additional members.

The LNC Executive Committee is a subcommittee of the Libertarian National Committee which acts on national LP business between meetings of the full LNC.

Many state and local LP affiliates use the term Executive Committee (or some variation such as "State Executive Committee") to refer to the highest body empowered to act between conventions.
