******* USUAL STUFF *******
Treasury has about $1000.00
HELP!! HELP!! HELP!! HELP!! HELP!! HELP!!
Can anybody help with clerical stuff? Penn needs a person to volunteer one morning a month.
We can help someone. If you would like to use an office in exchange for answering the phone and a nominal monthly fee, contact Dave Daniels about sharing the Party office, and having it almost all to yourself
AND OF COURSE... We can always use your money. If you can afford it please pledge support and/or join the party as a paying member. Our fore-fathers, and mothers, pledged their oives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to give us the freedoms we take for granted. Can you Please 1/2 of your weekly (pink one - twinkee, chocol;ate, cigarettes, beer) ration to help maintain those freedoms? A good way to do this is to have a jar, and everytime you purchase one of the pledged items, put a matching amount in the jar.
******* NEWS & NOTES *******
Besides being the home of the Libertarian Party, Colorado is also the home of the National Commodity and Barter Association, about which more in the next issue of the Liberty. Its Founder, John Grandbush died of a heart attack in early June. His successor John Voss has been under criminal investigation by the IRS for about 5 years.
His trial was the week of the 23rd of June. The charges were willful failure to file. It took the Jury all of 1 hour 15 min to return a not guilty verdict. In the office we have a copy of the underlying paperwork which made this verdict possible. He will be sp2aking at a rally on August 2nd and 3rd as described below.
Mary Margaret, a Libertarian in Ft. Collins, and a mover and shaker in the same city has planned a convention to discuss the practical problems and possible associated solutions of moving 1000 Libertarians to Ft. Collins within the year. For information Write to 1317 Lakewood Drive; Ft. Collins Colo., 80521, or call 1-484-8184. $l.00 contributions are requested to help defer expenses.
******* TAX LIMITATION AMENDMENT *******
In the last issue we told you of a state constitutional amendment which would prohibit the raising of taxes without the persons affected giving a favorabl4e vote in the next general election. The parties backing this amendment, including many libertarians, need 70,000 signatures, and already have about 40% of that goal, as of this writing. The deadline is the 31st of July, so please help. More information can be obtained by contacting Steve Shoe. He is the full time coordinator of this project and can be reached during the dat at 292-0514.
