Dr. William Martin "Bill" Sloane is a former Democratic Chief Counsel to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and former member of the Pennsylvania Democratic State Executive Committee.  He became a Libertarian in 2010.

He served as Central Vice-Chair of the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania (LPPA) from 2017 to 2022 and as Western Vice-Chair from 2015 to 2017.  Previously he was a state Judicial Committee member [2011-15; Chair 2011-14].

Until 2021 Sloane chaired the Capital Area Libertarian Committee, comprising Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry Counties.  He has been a Health Care Freedom/Reform Advisory Council member of Our America Initiative since 2014.

He is also a member of the Pàrtaidh Libeirtèireach na h-Alba (Scottish Libertarian Party).  He has described himself as a Twelfth Amendment activist and as the “founder and just about only member of Caucus-Free Libertarians.”
