Mary J. Ruwart PhD (b. October 16, 1949) is a highly respected Libertarian writer and activist. She holds a doctorate in biophysics.
There has been more than one push to make Mary Ruwart the nominee for US President, from 1983 to the six-ballot 2008 nomination barely won by Bob Barr.
She has served multiple terms on the Libertarian National Committee and has served on the boards of the International Society for Individual Liberty and the Fully Informed Jury Association. She has been a part of the Michigan chapter of the Heartland Institute.
At the 2018 National Convention she gave a nominating speech for Caryn Ann Harlos who went on to win the office of Secretary.
